8R12 Debate Finalists

Congratulations to Dylan Gibbons and Sasha-Kay Marais, who came out as the top two debaters in the class. Good luck to them for the whanau debate this Wednesday between 8R10, 8R11 and 8R12 students. The best three debaters from that debate will go through to take on Kiwi in the semi-finals of the interwhanau debate later this term.

Also, congratulations to Max and Mandy, who scored third and fourth highest, and will therefore join Sasha and Dylan as understudies for the finals, replacing them if they cannot make it on the day.

Deconstructing Diary Entries

8R12 are writing their own authentic war diaries to combine their knowledge of World War I with their writing ability.

View the assignment.

As part of their planning of their war diaries, they had to deconstruct two diary entries from the book Lottie: Gallipoli Nurse. This should help them when they plan their own diary entries.

Read their individual deconstructions.
